A single plant can produce 60,000 seeds which are viable for over 80 years. Some plants flower twice per year, yielding a higher number of seeds. With the high capability to reproduce, it is best to catch this plant before it becomes established. It can easily take over areas and choke out native plants.
Mow to prevent seed production.
Spot spray in spring or early summer. Once established, fall application works best.
Hand pull or use a shovel to remove crown 2 inches below the surface.
