In the mint family, Motherwort has a pungent smell when crushed. This plant reproduces by seeds and is often found in woodland edges. Roots are tenacious and can be hard to eradicate. It can be dried and used as a tea if manually removing the plant. As it is a tenacious weed, it is best to remove it from natural areas if you wish to use it for medicinal purposes (contain in the home or greenhouse).
