This plant can produce seeds very quickly causing it to spread. One plant can produce over 1,700 berries with 10 to 35 seeds each. Germination can occur all season long and seeds are viable 5 years or more. With such great potential to invade, it is best to eradicate this plant early before it takes over an area edging out native plants.

The pasque flower is the first to grow in prairies in the spring and prefers uncrowded conditions. A tincture can be made out of the collected flowers to treat headaches, hormonal changes, and nerve pain. Small doses are recommended.

The flowers of this plant have an abundance of nectar, attracting many pollinator species such as butterflies and bumblebees. All parts of the plant are edible and can be used in soups and teas. The flowers can also be collected ed as a dye.
