Growing up to 3 feet tall, this plant blooms June to July with tiny white flower clusters. The leaves can be collected, dried, and used as tea. Roots can be collected in late spring to early summer. They can be peeled and chewed on for their sweet taste.

Bloodroot appears as a small white flower with a yellow center, typically on the forest floor. They lack the ability to spread far from their place of origin and will often be in small groups. The fresh root is red and can be used to make deep red dyes.
